Description: Akalia is an above-average height vulpin, in her mid-years, and loosing some of her looks, but still going strong.  She's a grey vulpin, generally a dark grey in shading.  The tip of her muzzle shades to a golden-red, along with two streaks that start on her cheeks, dissappearing back under her head-fur.  Her rather large and unruly fluff of head-fur is a nice brunette color, actually carrying over from her days before she was changed. Her whole face is slightly cat-like, her muzzle a little broader and wider than the norm.  This extends to her eyes, which dialate much like a felines, and are a bronzed-green color.

Her back is covered by a large patch of golden-red, which extends to a little bit down her tail on top.  This patch extends partway around her sides, medium sized 'handles' of it streching partway across her belly. Her feet are socked with the same brunette as her head-fur, extending halfway to her knees. 

Personality: She was born a Caitan, and most definately does NOT think in the same way as most people do.  Her birth culture taught her the school of tough knocks and tough love.  She is gentle and loving, mind you, but she will be tough with someone at the same time.  One can often see her going from mild quips to smacking someone upside the head within a minute, should they say something stupid, or otherwise.  She is definately not tolerant of people making blatent mistakes, and generally trying to go off half-cocked. 

She will defend those she finds to be tolerable, or even pleasant, and especially protect those she sees as family, even if they do do stupid things.  Overall, she is loving, and caring.  It's just that she has a diffrent way of showing it. 

She is far more moderate than she used to be, though, as a result of her husband knowing all her buttons, and slowly weeding some of her more excessive tendacies out of her.  And he still will occasionally come by, and press all those buttons again, and let her flounder as she's disarmed and on the floor laughing in annoyance and mirth. 

Known History: Born March 9, 2354, to the Diess clan on Catan, she joined SF at age 22, learning communications as did many of her species, and heading out into space.  Her career was... lackluster for the most part, until she joined the USS Kep Salu, which was heading out to the Gamma Quadrant.

The freelance captain Akalia Diess took command of the Long Shot, a Redemption class cruiser in 3212, using it in various employs of Hyperlight industries and others.  She earned a fair reputation during this time, including one as a fair expert in Ohansu tactics, before the 3254 evac of Earth.  The now CSS Long Shot, a member of the Galactic Confederated Alliance, CCC-1712, remains under her command, and serves as a scout and reconnassance crusier, assisted and assisting the CSS Flash, CCC-499. Under her command, it has led in the Kalida Raid, and partially in the Mandalora Straights. It also was the ship investigating a moon of Aira in March.  She has proven to be an effective, and competent commander, protective of her ship, and appears to be a good choice for promotion in the future.
